#OneWord Thursday: In Search of #Bliss

On August 8, 2013 by Janice Taylor

In search of bliss?  The highest degree of happiness, blessedness, exalted felicity, heavenly joy?   Me, too!  And—I can tell you with certainty that beating your self up is not the way to find bliss.

Give yourself a break.  It took you how many years to form those “bad” habits?  It’s going to take time to create new and better habits.

Be patient.  Be kind.   Pay attention to even the slightest move toward “better,” and see what can happen.  Peace, happiness, bliss be yours!

Here, Our Lady of Weight Loss shares 9 Bliss Quotes to inspire:

Now may every living thing, young or old,
weak or strong, living near or far, known or
unknown, living or departed or yet unborn,
may every living thing be full of bliss. ~ The Dhammapada

To be happy–one must find one’s bliss. ~ Gloria Vanderbilt

There is no need for us all to be alike and think the same way, neither do we need a common enemy to force us to come together and reach out to each other. If we allow ourselves and everyone else the freedom to fully individuate as spiritual beings in human form, there will be no need for us to be forced by worldly circumstances to take hands and stand together. Our souls will automatically want to flock together, like moths to the flame of our shared Divinity, yet each with wings covered in the glimmering colors and unique patterns of our individual human expression. ~ Anthon St. Maarten

If you want to reach a state of bliss, then go beyond your ego and the internal dialogue. Make a decision to relinquish the need to control, the need to be approved, and the need to judge. Those are the three things the ego is doing all the time. It’s very important to be aware of them every time they come up. ~ Deepak Chopra

Every leaf speaks bliss to me, fluttering from the autumn tree.  ~ Emily Bronte
