New York, NY: Jane Weston Wilson, author of Eating
Well! Cookbook: When You Just Can't Eat the Way You Used To
and Janice Taylor, Founder of Our Lady of Weight Loss (www.OurLadyofWeightLoss.com),
are the yin and yang of a balanced and bountiful approach
to eating. They will be speaking at the West Side YMCA on
Wednesday, April 14, at 12 Noon.
Their session: Balanced and Bountiful: The Art of Eating,
is part of a five session seminar series entitled Embrace
Life, Live Healthy, Be Healthy sponsored by The Transition
Network in partnership with the West Side YMCA.
Jane Weston Wilson found comfort at an early age in the kitchen
and loved the daily round of kitchen chores - rinsing vegetables,
pushing potatoes through the ricer, rolling butter balls between
two grooved wooden paddles - while Janice Taylor found comfort
at a very early age in eating - anything and everything.
Jane's philosophy, "feast everyday, entertain often and
splurge on occasion," suggests that there is a gorgeous
array of sensuous healthy food to be shared. With a caterer's
tips and techniques, Jane shows you how to make shopping,
cooking and eating together a wonderful social connection.
Janice Taylor, weight loss coach, artist, and founder of Our
Lady of Weight Loss (www.OurLadyofWeightLoss.com), at age
50 exchanged 50 pounds of excess weight for 50 pieces of art.
"I found my biggest obstacle to weight loss was my negative
self talk. I created Our Lady of Weight Loss to help me quiet
those voices. I made art instead." With an artist's insight
Janice shares her sometimes hilarious tale of her weight loss
journey and offers inspiration for helping others to get in
touch with their inner artist.
