The shoreline is that space where land and sea endlessly
intersect, where tides ebb and flow with the pull of the
moon. Moments of opportunity, joy, heartache, sensuality,
deceit, innocence, terror and pleasure all wash up on a
metaphoric shoreline inside each of us.
Our shoreline is the space inside where we ruminate on
and reflect our dreams, values, needs and destiny. It's
the space where 'women on the verge of something else' stand
each day and face the world. We can choose to wet our feet,
plunge in, swim afar or step away.
'Shoreline' is a series of photo collages tightly linked
in a grid that mirrors an ancient board game - the magic
square of nine. We plot our moves and rely on chance in
a universal game. Each experience laps against the next
and the next. Everything counts. All has meaning. ~ Mary
