Personalized artwork by collage artist Janice Taylor

A token of remembrance ~ What better way to pay tribute to yourself, your cat, dog or Mother, than with an original collage plate? I will create a wondrous work of art from photo(s) that you send me.

You can expect your Customized Creation to be similar in style to my other plates - but yours will be an original one-of-a-kind creation.

You can specify color and even send special decorative papers with your own photo. I'd be happy to use whatever elements you would like, if at all possible. If you would like to provide background information about the subject of your artwork, enabling me to reflect the information in the piece, it might make the piece even more meaningful for you and your family to enjoy.

Chances are, I will take a little artistic license with the commission but I promise you will not be disappointed. If you like my artwork, then you will love the piece that I will create for you!

Great! How do we proceed from here?

Once you have decided that you would like a Customized Creation, then:

- Send me a quick email letting me know you what you would like to do;

- Send to me, via snail mail, any photos and other materials that you would like included in the artwork. The photos will be returned safely to you, as the originals are not actually used in the artwork.

Creation

Before any pieces are glued down I will take a digital picture of the artwork and email it to you. At this time you can let me know if you are pleased with the direction it is taking and if you feel any changes are necessary. I will send you digital emails along the way, just to be sure that the piece is moving in a way that you approve of. Once you have signed off on the final artwork, you will send the balance payment and then I will ship the artwork to you!

Q: How much does this cost?
A: Let me know the size of the style and size of the plate, and I will advise cost. The range is $30 to $500 (coasters to large plates with painted boards) plus shipping and 8.25% sales tax if you live in New York. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to begin work on your Customized Creation.

Q: May I get a discount if I order more than one commission?
A: Sure! Discounts are offered for multiple orders - email me for more information.

Q: How much can I expect to pay for shipping?
A: Shipping prices vary depending on your location. I ship via FedEx and will insure the artwork for actual price.

Q: I want my commission created to be a gift. Will you wrap and ship it to another party?
A: No problem! I can gift wrap your commissioned work and ship to whomever you like. Gift wrapping with a hand written card enclosure is $4. Another option is to send your recipient a gift certificate. I will send you a gift certificate and a brochure that you can give to them to redeem at any time.

Q: How do you make these pieces? Are they done on the computer?
A: No, my artworks are created by hand. The only point a computer is used is to produce the archival print from your photo.

Q: I would like to commission you to create an artwork, but I don't want it based on one of my relatives. May I still hire you to create a specific artwork(s) for me?
A: Yes you can! Please feel free to email your ideas to me. I'll let you know if I can create what you are looking for.

Q: How long will my commission take?
A: My artworks usually take about 4-6 weeks to complete depending on workload and complexity. When placing your order, please let me know when you would like your commission and I will do my best to fulfill your request.

If you have any additional questions about the commission process, please do not hesitate to email me! I will be more than happy to consult with you via email or phone to discuss ideas for your artwork.
